Our Verdict

The iPhone 13 Pro Max remains a premium smartphone with a smooth 120Hz ProMotion display, powerful A15 Bionic performance, capable triple-camera system and strong battery capacity. Its stainless-steel construction, IP68 rating and Ceramic Shield add to its premium build. However, its large and relatively heavy body and older-generation hardware should be considered when comparing it with newer iPhone models.

The Good

  • Smooth 120Hz ProMotion OLED display
  • Powerful A15 Bionic performance
  • Versatile triple-camera system with LiDAR
  • Premium stainless-steel build
  • Large 4352mAh battery
  • IP68 water resistance

The Bad

  • Heavy 240g body
  • 20W wired charging is relatively slow
  • No charger included in the box
  • Older A15 Bionic platform
  • Price and availability can vary in Nepal

iPhone 13 Pro Max Review

Let’s discuss the design of the 13 Pro Max. It comes with a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED Display and a ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate. I think the 13 Pro Max is slightly better in terms of the display and build quality. Apple uses Ceramic Shield protection and wide color (P3).

Its design features a stainless-steel frame, uses matte glass on the back, and a Ceramic Shield front feel more luxurious than many newer mid-range phones.

This phone is the best for multimedia consumption, and Apple has also improved the audio quality of its speakers and cameras. I found that this phone is louder than the 12 Pro Max. It comes in 5 color options: Graphite, Gold, Silver, Sierra Blue, and Alpine Green. But I am choosing the Sierra Blue color.

iPhone 13 Pro Max Battery life

About the battery, it comes with 4352 mAh, supports 20W fast charging, 15W MagSafe, and 7.5W Qi wireless charging. I have used this phone for 2 days without charging. This phone helps me with gaming and other multitasking. This fast charging reaches around 50% in about 30 minutes with a 20W adapter.

iPhone 13 Pro Max camera quality

Camera

Known for its cameras, the 13 Pro Max comes with a triple camera setup at the back: 12MP wide, 12MP telephoto, 12MP ultrawide camera sensor, and a 12MP TrueDepth camera with Face ID. The new telephoto camera has been increased to 3x optical zoom. The all-new wide camera has a larger camera sensor with 1.9 µm pixels.

The most advanced sensors and lenses are used for the three rear cameras. The best features of the iPhone 13 Pro Max: the image signal processor (ISP) in the A15 Bionic for improved noise reduction and tone mapping; the 13 Pro Max lineup features the best camera system ever for me.

Image obtained with iPhone 13 Pro Max

The Ultra Wide camera features a much wider f/1.8 aperture and a new autofocus system, and it gives a 92 percent improvement in low-light environments, producing images that are brighter and sharper than the iPhone 12.

Apple gives the A15 Bionic a 5-core GPU for the best performance in the iPhone 13 Pro lineup is even more advanced. It offers impressive power and efficiency. When I am playing games like PUBG and Free Fire, it provides me with very high graphics and performance.

It comes with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, up to 12GB RAM + 1TB Storage. I am sure the next generation of Snapdragon chips won’t match its best and raw performance. Anyway, we are finally getting a 120Hz refresh rate on an iPhone display with the 13 Pro series. Honestly, I didn’t find any big issues with the phone. This phone has enhanced my smartphone experience.

When I play for 10-15 minutes of gaming, the phone gets hot, and brightness levels drop to 70% and then to 50%. I hope that after 6 to 10 months, this issue will be resolved and we will be able to enjoy high 120fps gaming very soon.
